VeriFace is a face-recognition software package that is a registered trademark of Lenovo and was  the first Face Verification Technology on public computer. In lieu of passwords, VeriFace identifies users by matching unique features of individual faces to photographs taken by the 1.3-megapixel webcam. It was reported that the version available in 2009 could be fooled by holding up a photograph of the individual in front of the webcam, and therefore offers only limited security in the default configuration.VeriFace is included on some new IdeaPad notebooks and netbook, and currently only works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. It does not work on previous versions of Microsoft Windows.
